Christ Alone

My latest book, Christ Alone: An Evangelical Response to Rob Bell’s “Love Wins” came out late Thursday. I didn’t want to say anything then, since it was Maundy Thursday, and I don’t want to say much now, since we’re still in the middle of Easter weekend. But the Grand Rapids Press ran a story on the book in today’s paper, and if any readers of that article come to my blog I wanted to let them know that they came to the right place. You can learn more about the book on its website, and I’ll say more about it on Monday. Thanks, and happy resurrection day!

  1. Mike, Thank you for your courage, biblicity, and gracious care for the kingdom as you steward its Chief Shepherd’s, its King’s Truth.

  2. Are you going to release a kindle version of that book?

  3. Waiting with baited breath for the kindle version (so I can get it here in Asia).

  4. Yes, the Kindle is coming. I don’t know how long the process takes, but it is on the way.

  5. Looking forward to reading it soon Mike. Thanks for your labor in service to Christ!

    Mike,

Nice write up in the Press, although I wish you had made front page rather than the inane article on how many days Jesus was in the grave. Will you be at Baker on Thursday night to sign copies of your book?

  7. Just wanted to let you know that your wildest dreams are coming true.

“Christ Alone” is currently ranked well above “The Purpose Driven Life” on Amazon.com.

Now if only you could pass “The 17 Day Diet”.

  8. As people like Bell and McLaren continue to “push the envelope,” they simply will push beyond anything that even resembles Christianity into a “faith” that is no faith at all. They appeal to people who don’t wish to give up anything — least of all friendship with our current culture — in order to have “faith.”

All it takes is holding to certain ideologies and “trying to be a ‘good person’.” And like so many others, they ultimately will be using their pulpits as a means to further and preserve the Sexual Revolution.

  9. What about a Nook version? I look forward to reading “Christ Alone” Thanks!

  10. You’ve done a yeoman task and put together a great book in such a sort amount of time! And, Yes, I’ve even *read* the book! (OK, I’ve read only 6 out of 10 chaps., but I sense it’s going to finish strong.)

  11. Enjoyed reading your book. We attended Mars Hill until 2008. Therefore, no need to purchase “Love Wins”. Rob’s book is nothing new if you had listened closely to his preaching.

You did a great job. Thanks for your effort. We will see you at Baker Book May 5th. Thanks for doing a second session.
